The mission of Sleep in a Box is to help raise awareness and donate funds for the homeless through school spirit and community involvement. Students become aware of the situation that fellow peers deal with daily by spending one night in a cardboard house that the students build.
Sleep in a Box gives a new excitement, inspiration, and sparkling experience to participants by constructing houses out of cardboard boxes and coming together with music, food, and games for one fun-filled night.
We did a homeless awareness project at Lafayette High School in Lafayette, Louisiana. Student participation lead to raising over $8000. The proceeds were donated to the Homeless Children and Youth Education Program of Lafayette Parish School System to assist homeless high school students.
